Founded in 1760 by Nicolas
CONVER who carved the same year the Tarot of Marseilles, the
Conver manufacture lates becomes the Camoin
House through a mariage. It prints decks of cards and
sells them throughout the world : over one million decks a year
at the turn of the century. Besides its standard Tarot of Marseilles
deck by Nicolas Conver, it produces several various Tarots and
exports chinese, italian and egyptian decks. It then acquires
the african market, as well as a quasi-total monopoly over spanish
cards.
Today, Philippe CAMOIN
, the heir of this tradition, perpetuates this Excellence together
with Alexandre JODOROWSKY by restoring, after years of scientific
work, the Tarot of Marseilles.
