Dear friends:

I would like to introduce you a new topic in the forum: The ralationship between internet and the Tarot. In fact I believe Ive found some clues of internet among the multiples symbols the TdM has. Im looking forward to hearing new ideas about this hypothesis, because Im really focus on the influence of the mass media on our identity ( nowadays we have a provided by many sources/expansive/selective identity...), and the construction our of self.
To start, the question could be:

where do you find the internet in the tarot cards?

I like to look for groupings of cards, rather than 1 card potentially meaning "internet," although certainly this would be possible, given the context of a question. I like to scan a line of cards for logical groupings-- perhaps 2 (rarely 3) cards that as juxtaposed show a unified idea.
So, I tend to look for a card that means "communication" or "letter" and then one that suggests an electronic modality.

Speaking: ......Letter: ...... File: ...... Electronic: ...... Satellite

Thus, some ideas may look like:
Electronic communication....................or Satellite communication:
Electronic letter
Electronic file

As a general idea of the Internet:



But, it would certainly be possible that or could signify the Internet in a string of cards, given the context of the question; especially if the question were about whether one should pursue an internet business or not and XX or XXI appeared in a dignified way.

Very interestin observation. What about the wheel of fortne as internet?
I mean, internet nowadays represents the destiny ( the machine per se, the machine used to escape from the liquid world we live at present) which governs our life. In any case, I agree with u and I consider Le monde as valid idea as well. Did u have problems with your wifi for instance? Sometime is like this thing is magic...

Perhaps it is not in harmony with Camoin’s meanings, but, L’imperatrice has been identified by some Tarot de Marseille scholars as having a divinatory meaning of communication, writing, letters. I must admit, this is not intuitively obvious to me. I suppose I accepted it on face value.

In my opinion Limperatrice has the same meaning that you said in Camoin method, I didn´t find huge diferences between what u said and what Camoin said.

At now I look into download concept. What about temperance as download symbol?

Dear iñigo: That is good to know, about Camoin's parallel with the meaning of L'Imperatrice.

"Download" -- wonderful !!!

Of course now the question could be what the temperance is looking at! to know in which application we will use the file downloaded or in which "real matter".I mean the card on the right could be the kind of file, the card on the left the application...
I think we found out a new concept/meaning valid for the temperance...

sorry..i'm a beginner but i do not understand where the idea of the social network is in these three cards...
maybe in the calling the angel makes in the judgment? and maybe in the three figures of the judgment looking each other?

asking a question isn't stupid at all ... on the contrary !
indeed, it may not seem quite simple especially if you are a beginner and tarot is a wonderful world to dive into.

temperance here with the two jars, and the fluids intertwined may be related to wires, communication. the fluids between the 2 jars kinda look like wires. there is a give and take between the two of them, a link, and it goes both way.
the judgement is to me a "social card", you have several people hearing the call, and the angel may look like a satellite
the wheels is like the connections between people, next to temperance, the connections at work, electronic communication ...

I looked at them like a unit to tell you the truth, and the meaning just "jumped" out of the cards.
